All prometric centers that offer USMLE exams are standardized throughout the United States to minimize exam-taking irregularities. All of them now carry orange or yellow ear muffs / headphones that cancel any noise. Since you've taken your step 1, these have now been implemented for all USMLE exam takers. You won't ear squat.

Name: Testing Zone, Inc. on Harwin

Monitors: LCD - no refresh rate problems on my hardware (a year ago they were CRT with low refresh rate/blinking)

Noise: depends on what bothers you .. always a bunch of GED/CPA/etc people who are typing away for their essays and whatnot. They do provide the ear muffs which I find pretty useless. They allow you to bring your own earplugs which I suggest if noise bothers you. The last 2 times (1 year apart) I've been there for some reason at the end of the day there is some heavy bass coming from an adjacent building or the street.

I would still take exams there again because I'm familiar/used to the center now.

any information about the prometric center on northwest freeway houston?
