Prometric Testing day

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have heard of people doing this but your apparently not supposed to. If they see you doing it they'll take your boards away but I have heard of people doing it without getting caught.

My testing center wouldn't allow it. They said you can't write anything until after the tutorial.

I took it yesterday and took the full 15 minutes and made all my hole punch graphs and wrote down every formula I knew, it just depends who you get

So if you finish the tutorial, so you will be timed right away finishing the tutorial. Sometimes i would like to take 2 minutes off before beginning the science section, so you will timed from that 2 minute break sitting next to the computer before you begin the science section?

Dude you have the 15 minute tutorial before the science section. Chill and use that time to mentally prepare yourself. Its just a test.

It's technically not allowed, but it depends on the test center and moderator and whether or not they will see it/decide to act on it. Either way, if you're just jotting down notes, the worst that could happen is that they come in and make you switch boards right before you start.

So what can I do?

So what can I do?
I was worried about this as well. I just drew my boxes the PAT section. No one came and said anything. It depends on the testing center. I went to the same one as my friend and she didn't get her paper taken away.

It's really up to you! If you feel it will really help, then I'd say go for it. Even if they say you can't and make you switch boards, then you'd be in the same place you would've been if you decided to not take notes (if that makes any sense)

Oops, totally didn't know you couldn't do that. My proctor watched me after I sat and waited to make sure I started the confirmation page and clicked to start the tutorial then left. Then I just wrote equation after equation I could think of. And boxes and columns for the PAT. Took a few minutes then I spent the rest of the time chilling. My proctor actually walked by me numerous times and said nothing about my noteboard.

Oh! I actually went through the tutorial to make sure the calculator worked! Very helpful because apparently some computers let you use the numerical pad and some make you click the screen. Nice to figure that out BEFORE I got to that section.
