Proof of shadowing?

Do you guys think it's necessary to present some form of written proof that I have shadowed certain dentists? How exactly do dental schools verify/check this?

i had my dentist write down the hours in his letter of reccomendation for me. (400+)

They won't verify but at the interview they might ask general questions about your experience and based on your answers they can tell if you are full of it or not.
