Hello,

I would like some insight about what you think about being paid as an associate with a draw. I did some google-ing about the subject, but just wanted your thoughts about this method of payment.

Thanks!!!

If its like the one I had then its a horrible idea. My draw was a loan I was taking against my future earnings. If you have to take a loan to accept a job then the job isn't good. If the office doesn't believe they can fill your schedule appropriately then they shouldn't be hiring. Ask for a daily flat rate or a percentage of production.

It's kind of like .. from my understanding .. you get paid a salary or certain amount per day for a certain amount of time. Then, when you start producing and making a decent amount per day, you have to pay back the owner. I'm not exactly sure though...

that makes no sense to me... i never ran into that situation while looking for a job. most will give you a guaranteed minimum (~$500/day) for the first 6 months and then it's a percentage of collections afterwards.

A draw is not good. You could end up working somewhere, and owing the practice money.
