Anyone care to add something to the list?

Pro:
Meet future classmates
Find a place to live
See more of the school
Get to know the area

Con:
Lose wages/study time
Expensive to fly across the country
Might not learn anything new about the program
May get sucked out of a poorly maintained Southwest plane 30k feet in the air

I'm on the fence.

Con:
Meet a whole bunch of people who likely won't be your classmates
Lose wages/study time
Expensive to fly across the country
Probably won't learn anything new about the program since they'll just be trying their best to convince those who are on the fence to attend
Way too early to look for housing
May get sucked out of a poorly maintained Southwest plane 30k feet in the air

made some corrections to your list

basically don't go, it's not worth the trip unless you are genuinely on the fence about where to matriculate

I'm currently on the fence at one school who's holding second look next weekend. Attendance would require traveling half way across the country and 3 days of lost wages. Airfare has essentially doubled since I went to interview there as recently as March! I really want to go as I liked this school so much but money is a huge concern.

...yeah, airfare prices tend to skyrocket when you wait a week before your trip to book your flight.

Agree with the above that it probably isn't worth it if you're tight on cash and know you're going to X school.

Word. Thanks for the advice, guys. Sounds like it may be a waste of my time/money.
