What are they? I was just looking through my current undergrad's list of grad classes and noticed that one is a "Proseminar in XX Psychology".
And its only 1 hour and 15 mins per week.
What exactly would this class consist of??

I take prosems in History, Psychobio, Cognitive psych, and Social psych in order to fulfill APA requirements. They're broad reviews of the respective area in psych. They can be taught however the prof wants to do it, I think.

1 hour 15 minutes? My understanding was that they're all supposed to be worth 3 credit hours.

my prosem is a once-a-week course where different people within the department stop by and talk with us for an hour and a half or so.

my courses comparable to JN's are the "core concepts" classes that are between 2 and 4 credits, depending on the area.

i think most proseminars, around here at least, are just to make the students aware of what else is going on in the department outside of their particular speculation.

sorry for the lack of punctuation... it is friday night after all!

As someone who has attended four different universities now, proseminars (as many things do) vary by program in course description & credit. Basically fancy word for a seminar/lecture that provides you additional professional training or education for some area. You might even see the same course # for multiple seminars but they have different topics.
