So I get emails from medical schools about being a prospective student and essentially talking about why I should consider their school. My question is that do medical schools send this out randomly to people that indicate a preference to receive email from medical school on their mcat stuff or do they send it to students that they want or thing are strong applicants for their school based on their mcat?

They send emails to people that score in a certain range. It's recruitment... secondaries generate a lot of revenue.

Many medical schools send such letters to everyone who identifies as URM and scores above a certain threshold on the MCAT. Getting one of these letters/emails from a school does not indicate that you have a higher chance of acceptance there.

haha thanks. i was excited for a second 😀

Yeah, it's just an advertising ploy. I got one from UMich in October, saying my MCAT was competitive (lol) after they have given out all interviews.

They just want your money.
