intermolecular hydrogen bonds is the characteristic of beta-pleated sheet?(kbb p.485. q.10)

i thought beta- have intramolecular hydrogen bond, don't they?

that's right!!! when pair up... the aa backbone will form h-bond... when interacting with neighbors, it could h-bond also....😉

mm... beta-pleated sheet is secondary, not quarternary structure: by definition, we're discussing the shape of *one molecule* (given, a possibly large polymer - but still one molecule). Therefore, I'd stick with intramolecular H-bond - not inter.
