protic solvent in SN2

I'm just wondering why protic solvent is not good for Sn2 rxn..

Polar protic solvent is not used in SN2 because it will stabilize the nucleophile and slow down the reaction. For SN1 a carbocation intermediate is formed and a polar protic solvent is needed to stabilize the carbocation.
