I haven't seen a post like this previously so I thought I'd start it.

Has anyone considered offering to put up a fellow path applicant while visiting in your town? My sense from this forum is that competition is low, while support is high. Thus, why not help an applicant who is unfamiliar with your town and university by offering some accomodations.

Of course, not everyone has the room so it shouldn't be expected, but many of us might. Many applicants sound like they are traveling an awful lot so expenses will be very high. If I can help by either putting someone up or helping with accomodations I'd be happy to. I'd have to get the thumbs up from my wife but I'm sure it would be possible.

Something to think about.

Hey fellows,
Im in State College(Center county) PA.....well over here, there isnt really a medical school, our university has its medical school in Hershey (2 hours away).....BUT,im like 2 hours from pittsburgh,4 hours from Philadelphia,4 hours from cleveland,4 hours from NY,NJ,45 mins from Altoona, and probably quite near to places in and around this place(community kind of hospitals.... no clue what they are)....So if anyone wants temp boarding and lodging , you are more than welcome. I wish i was in a major city but im not.Yet for those who chose to avail it, the offer stands.

Please pm me if you think i might be of help.

Regards
Quant

PS - You would need to prove to me that you arent an axe wielding murderer!.....wonder how would one do that though ?

That would all depend on who the potential applicant is. And what my schedule is.

Yankee fans can even apply now. Because I pity you.

Yo quant,

The wedding I'm going to next weekend is in Philly. I was gonna drive back to Ann Arbor afterwards but if you're in town, we should meet and grab a beer or two (or three).
