Hypothetically, what would be a reasonable timeline for tapering off prozac 80mg? I, of course, don't expect specific advice but I know that prozac has a long half life and I wondered how that affected the withdrawal.

Hypothetically, you can adjust the speed of the taper, based on previous results and sensitivity to withdrawal. Prozac can be tapered 80QD, 40 BID x2days, 20 BID x2days, 10 BID x2days, then 1/2 a tab x 1-2 days, or an iteration of this.

That's about a 1 week taper, but can be stretched out depending...
Some even use the solution to help taper hypersensitive patients at the finishing doses.

I have not seen anything indicating to a standard of care reccomendation when it comes to tapering down SSRIs (if there is one, someone please tell me).

Prozac though has one of the longest half lives of any of the SSRIs--with it lasting several days in the system, while other SSRIs often last just a day or 2. For this reason, several attendings I've talked to said you can taper it down more aggressively than the other SSRIs.
