This is my third time applying for DO school, I have two masters degrees and am 28 years old. I have a unique Personal Statement highlighting my experience at a hospital in Africa, then tying in teaching jobs, tutoring, and my perseverance to become a doctor. If anyone has time to review/edit my personal statement I would greatly appreciate it. I contacted two members that were listed on the PS help thread, but just wondering if anyone else has a creative/professional writing experience. So far I have about 4100 characters (limit is 4500). I want to make sure my story stays creative and flows. I can send you a google doc link, thanks!!

Third time applying? Good luck to you man, hope you can get some acceptances. What are your MCAT and GPAs?

undergrad GPA is 3.2, first masters is 3.1, second masters is 3.8, MCAT is 494- retaking in July. I first applied after undergrad, then applied after my first masters, so now that my GPA is gucci I just need to get my MCAT up a bit. Tons of work experience in dialysis clinic, volunteer, stellar EC's and 6 LOR's (2 DO and 4 Professors), published research as well.

Wow man sounds like you've made some serious improvement on that gpa. Nice work. Good luck on the MCAT.

I dont have any creative or professional writing experience but am willing to look over your personal statement! My qualifications are just that I've been accepted to KCU COM 🙂

Dude, if you get a 500 at a minimum on your MCAT I would expect many IIs for you. I can also take a look but won't be able to give my comments until early next week. PM if you want

Sorry to break it to ya kid but it is all about stats, GPA and MCAT get you in the door, how you walk through it is another question. I know several people with 4.0s, great ECs, work experience, etc....... but a 500 MCAT or a little lower....no acceptances......you need both stats to be successful the only time stats don't matter is caribbean schools or if you have a 3.6 and 515 and now you're deciding on which school you want to go to after you've been accepted

Good Luck to you OP

I mean I really don't see the harm in asking someone for their stats; they don't have to give them to me either if they'd prefer not to. I know there's more to the admissions process than an MCAT and a GPA, but they're weighted more heavily than say something like EC's (I mean, unless you've found the cure to cancer haha ) My stats are low, and
I like to compare with people, nothing more to it. Not to mention I offered encouragement to OP lol

Oh no dude! I didn't mean it in a negative way, it's great to use resources and be productive.
