So I was wondering if this is a good method. In the Ec's just basically putting down what I did, and using my PS to explain anecdotes from each. I'm so lost on what to do no matter how many threads I read.

UGH! STUPID PS!! I need to write and finish my application by tuesday so my application isn't late :/

Your PS is typically less about your EC's and more about the path that led you to med school. It's a narrative about you and why you are applying to learn how to be a doctor.

Typically the secondaries focus on the EC side of things.

That's not to say you can't or shouldn't mention any of your EC's in your PS. If they had bearing on your decision to apply, then they certainly belong. Stick to the one or two that were the most meaningful. Don't recite what you did, instead explain how these experiences affected your decision to apply.

If you wish, I would be happy to read it over for you and give you some constructive criticizm. I won't claim to be an expert, but I did get into med school =)

Sent from my iPhone using SDN Mobile app. Blame Siri if the spelling or grammar are bad.

Thank you, I see, ugh i donno what to write about i was thinking of putting down things like- teaching is important to becoming a good doctor, and use my ec's of my teaching. Damn PS crazp!

Don't fall into the "I'll be a good doctor because" trap. It comes off as cocky and shallow. You're at this spot for a reason. Explain why. If you dont know why you want to be a doctor, then you've got more issues than PS.

If teaching is your thing, you can talk about how educating people about their health is important to you and why. You can use experiences to illustrate this.

That aside, there was some singular point where you decided that med school was for you. Capture that moment and explain how you got there. Then explain where you want to go and how medical school will help you get there.

Think about the times it hit you and you just knew "wow, I want to dedicate my life to being a doctor." Describe 2-3 of these moments in detail, explaining not so much what was happening on the outside but rather your introspective thoughts.

Thank you guys, would someone mind reading a paragraph I have written in my PS, it still has a lot of grammatical errors and such, but I'd love to see if I'm on the right track.

use examples in your PS but dont like just list out what ECs and experiences u had

Unfortunately, I don't want to continue writing in the wrong tone/way, but also want to finish my essay within the next week. Would anyone mind?

I started my essay with a instance in my shadowing experience
