Pseudohermaphroditism from tumors?

From my basic understanding with the adrenals,
Males that lack androgen --> pseudohermaphroditism
Females with excessive androgen --> pseudohermaphroditism

So, can sertoli-leydig tumors in females cause pseudohermaphroditism? Since these would also secrete androgen?

In theory it can if it occurs in the embryo (when organ formation occur). However, sertoli-leydig tumor in a female fetus is very rare. Ovarian tumors usually occur at a later age.

You have pseudo-hermaphroditism (which your asking about) and true hermaphroditism.

As you may know, pseudo means "false"; pseudohermaphroditism occurs when you have a problem with your external genitalia. True hermaphroditism occurs when your have a problem with your internal genitalia.

Use these two categories to figure out the answer.

So I am not sure really sure, because I would need a description of the how the patient looks like. Anybody out there can help out?
