Psychdynamic PsyD Programs

Off the top of my head I'd suggest looking in the NYC area, as I think you'll have some pretty decent luck there. There is a Psy.D. program in Washington, DC (blanking on the name) that was known as very psychodynamic, but they supposedly brought in some CBT people for more diversity. I also believe The Wright Institute has a psychodynamic lean, they are out in Berkeley, CA.

There are only a few Psyd programs in the NYC area but I believe they are all combined CBT/Psychodynamic.

Widener, George Washington are two I applied to, along with The Wright Inst.

Which PsyD programs are mostly or at least in part psychodynamic?

Thanks

Chestnut Hill College in Northwest Philadelphia is psychdynamic. Object relations and systems oriented, to be specific.

Yeshiva PsyD, City College PhD (very very clinically oriented, as much as many PsyDs), Adelphi Phd (quite clinically oriented)and you can definitely get an analytic/dynamic training at LIU as well...

Rutgers is eclectic, but there are psychodynamic faculty and supervisors there.

Last I checked, Nancy McWilliams was an instructor for the PsyD program at Rutgers... she would be an incredible resource for somone interested in psychodynamic theory. If you haven't you should check out her books!

nancy mcwilliams is great. Shes a wonderful resource for anyone, regardless of psychodynamic background or not, in order to better understand personality and psychopathology.

+1.
