Just wondering if anyone thinks entheogens have a place in modern psychiatry. I've been reading over some MAPS studies and some old Leorey papers. Anyone heard of Rick Strassman? I'd propose the following could have benefits under appropriate circumstances:

Mescaline
Psylocybe
DMT
LSD
MDMA (for PTSD)

Obviously set and setting are crucial, but psychiatrists would be in a good position to make use of these. Anyone used these substances themselves?

Have you seen the movie "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?"

Yes, I have. I would not say that is a very responsible use of drugs though. I'm curious as to what is in that bong Hunter is smoking where the room becomes distorted.
Drugs and psychology/psychiatry have always gone together. Freud had cocaine, Leory had acid and shrooms, and MDMA was originally used in couples therapy.
