Psychoanalytic Institutes?

I'm not particularly interested in psychoanalysis, just curious...

I seem to have remembered hearing at some point something about "prestigious" psychoanalytic institutes. Are there any in particular that are considered more prestigious than others? I think there's one in NYC that's supposedly amazing, and Boston and San Fran come to mind, but has anyone heard which ones have the most prestigious reputations???

"Best", "worst", "prestigious" are so relative. That being said, most of the psychoanalytic institutes are clustered in a few areas on the East Coast (NYC, Boston, etc.), West Coast, Chicago, and the Menninger Clinic.

It depends what your particular interest in the psychoanalytic field is. Is location important? Is the theoretical orientation of the institute important? are you interested in psychoanalysis or in psychoanalytically-oriented psychotherapies? how far would you like to go with your psychoanalytic training? etc.

Based on your answer to any of the above questions, I might be able to be more specific in my answer.
