PsyD Interview Questions

I wanted to see if anyone has gone through PsyD interviews as well as PhD interviews and what different questions are asked. Any good suggestions on how to approach a PsyD program interview etc.

As far as I understand. PsyD interviews are less based on research in general, especially since you are not applying to work with a specific POI. I have a PsyD interview and was informed that there will be a personal interview as well as a group interview designed to see how you work in a group.

I would love some more input though from others who have gone through PsyD interviews already.

i had the individual as well as the group format. the individual time was spent asking me more detailed questions about my personal statement, my goals, really delving into who i was as a person. the group interview was to evaluate my clinical skills and ability to work in a group (and i assume under pressure). the professors were actually very strong in research, but made it clear that was not the primary focus. i really enjoyed my interview, although i was nervous!

To add to this-- Depending on the bent of the program, you should expect to be asked about clinical AND research interests and how you developed them. Also anticipate questions regarding working with clients from diverse backgrounds, how you resolved an ethical situation, and what your professional goals might be following graduation (and how the school will help you with those). Sort of like an augmented personal statement...
