Hello!

I am new to this forum, so please excuse me if a thread like this has already been posted. I just wanted to know of the top PsyD programs in New York. Here is some information about me:

- I am a Junior at LIU, majoring in psychology.
- I have a 3.9 GPA in the Honors College.
- I have been a TA (Teacher's Assistant) for a semester, an RA (Research Assistant on a research project regarding environmental psychology), a TA for another class.
- I am interning at a Psychiatric Research Clinic out of the major hospital in NY. I am assisting doctors in many different procedures at this clinic and I have had multiple interactions with patients.
- I am in the Psychology Honor Society.
- I plan on interning at another major hospital next summer.

I would like to focus on Clinical Psychology with children and teens, specifically with anxiety and mood disorders. With a mixed approach of CBT and Psychodynamic. I just wanted to know if I had a chance of getting into a PSYD program and if so which would be the best fit, (Finances are not a major concern).

THANK YOU!🙂

Give us your GRE scores and get back to us.

I have heard good things about LIU-Post's PsyD program, although its funding is not that great (only about 1/3 to 1/2 tuition). Also, if you are willing to venture to NJ, Rutgers' PsyD program is highly regarded as well (again, with only partial funding).

Anyones attached to a university and not for profit.

I like the word "venture" and the resulting implication that New Jersey is some kind of barren scrubland. I just moved to Staten Island and I swear I sometimes see a tumbleweed. 😉

How bad is it really up there? I've never been to the northeast.
