PSYD Programs to apply?

Hey guys, I am an undergraduate psychology student looking to go into a Psy.D program. I was wondering if you all could give me suggestions on where to apply and what are some of the best Illinois Psy.D. programs? Thank you!!!

Exactly. There are certainly low-quality diploma mills, particularly in PsyD’s. If you want to ferret out these programs, look up internship match rates by program and EPPP pass scores by program. While these are not 1:1 indicators of training program quality, you can generally use them to note when a program’s outcomes are generally poor due to an emphasis on profit over quality education. You can also check cohort sizes, noting that large cohort schools are generally lower quality:

That only tells you what to avoid, though. The “best” schools are based on fit, practicum/training site opportunities, and program factors that are subjective to what you value in your education.

Do note you are recommended to apply to 15 programs as a good number. So, far more than just would be available in one state.
