Anybody know how much PTAs make? There's not enough info online, and whatever there is- varies wildly.

What about be a good starting salary (yearly, per hour etc) that a new grad should expect, regardless of the setting?

There are several threads on PTAs on the indeed.com forums, you may want to look there. Also go on glassdoor.com and look in the "salaries" tab of hospitals, rehab companies, clinics, etc. If you look at a lot of sources, you'll be able to gradually zero in on a range. Off the top of my head, I'd think PTAs make around $25/hr, depending on location and experience.

Thanks for the info. Will check it out.

Anywhere from $20-30/hr seems to be about the range I've seen dependent on setting, years of experience and location

Someone I work with has a girlfriend who is in her first year as a PTA and she is making $36/hour. This is in Dodge City, Kansas. I am unsure of the exact setting she's in but he said it's an in-patient facility..possibly a nursing home?

Geez. There are a lot of PTs who make less than that.

I thought it was pretty high, too.. can't imagine what the PT is making! I know that a lot of rural areas will pay a lot more than average.

I have a friend, who has about one year of experience get offered $32/hr as a PTA. He started out I think around $26 an hr. This is in the chicago suburbs. When I told him PTs start out normally around the $33-34 range, he was shocked.
