PTCAS is open today! And surprisingly, this seems to be the hard opening, meaning you can technically submit your completed application today. (Although this is not recommended as you shouldn’t rush the process). As expected, the essay prompt has remained the same as last year. Good luck!

Hi Jasmine,

I started on my application for the 2021-2022 cycle today and I’m noticing that a lot of programs are missing from the list of schools to select from. Does it just take a few days for that list to update?

Thank you for your help!

I assume so. PTCAS changed the date a few times too, so some schools are probably confused by that

Not all schools use PTCAS, so make sure you also check on the school's website.

Hi! I am filling out the transcript portion and I have a question about PTCAS.

I have AP coursework fulfilling an english requirement on my transcript, but it is listed as "AP advanced placement exam" and for "fall 2015" because that is when I took the AP test for it. However I did not attend college until later (2017) so PTCAS doesnt allow me to select a fall 2015 quarter. Should I just put it into my first quarter (2017)? should I not mention it at all?

also I did badly on a class in my primary college, took an equivalent class at a community college for a higher grade, but I got a C my first time so I didn't really have to retake it. and it is not reflected on my primary school's transcript. And also turns out I don't need that class for my pre reqs anyway (oops). Do I still select it as a "repeat"?

thanks in advance

For the AP credit, you put it under the quarter that it counted towards (so it should be your first quarter of collgee). As for repeat courses, from my understanding, you only list it as repeated if you repeated the same class within the same institution. So if you took one class at one college and then you took a repeated one at another college, you would not list it as repeated.
