Hey everyone!! I just have a quick question!! I received an email that my applications will be sent off in the next "mailing cycle". I was just wondering how often they mail out applications? What is the mailing cycle? every month? every week? Just curious!! Thanks guys!!!

They say weekly but some times you have to stay on top of them..........I had to nag 3 times before my 2nd set of apps went out this month.

i called ptcas a few moments ago to ask about the different statuses that are set next to the schools designated. if the status of designations are set to "new", this means that the school is able to access them online but have not looked at them. if it is set to incomplete, then they have looked at the application but have not taken any action. and if they are set to complete, a decision has been made. i asked the ptcas representative if the status changed from "not mailed" to one of those three meant that it had been mailed out and he said that that was correct. hope this helps!

Interesting info. I never knew the status would change beyond that "new" designation. Thanks for sharing.

mizderi,

This is a wonderful update!! Thank you so much for this reply!! If you hear anything more let me know and I will do the same!!

My applications on PTCAS just changed from "new" to "revised". What does this mean? Does that mean that the schools are reviewing my applications? Does this mean that they have all of my materials and everything is good to go?

uhhhh i now believe this to be completely incorrect. i was granted an interview at one of the schools i applied to and the status on ptcas did NOT change at all. sorry to give you guys incorrect information!

Mine just said new when they first went out and all say revised after I updated my observation hours. No changes...I was accepted at one school -so far- no changes. Acceptances won't be posted until March for viewing schools won't be able to see any specifics.....I know all my schools "looked at" my application.

I think that the new designation is for when you send the applications out the first time, then if you make any changes/add information, etc it sends out a revised copy, hence the revised designation... but, I don't know that for sure!

I am with you on this understanding.
