Hi,
I'm fellow Physical Therapist from India and I've just joined here, today.I'm planning to apply to DPT schools for spring/fall 2014 admissions.I have written GRE and TOEFL and currently,I'm going through the PTCAS application process.I read the FAQs at PTCAS but still I am confused and I have some doubts regarding the procedure. Can you please answer me these questions?
1)PTCAS asks me to submit reference from Teachers/Employers in e-format.Do they want references to be written on Word/Pdf format? and then upload to their site? do i need a seperate physical copy of recommendation letters for each school that i'm going to apply?
2)I heard that some Schools need me to verify/evaluate Transcripts. So should i have to send the transcripts as scanned copy to those evaluation services,or do i have to send the original document(physical copy)?
If they dont ask for transcript verification, then do i have to send the original(physical) copy to the schools?
...
Thanks for your help🙂

You'd be better off asking PTCAS directly. They have a Facebook page, and I hear they're pretty responsive.

thank you🙂i will contact them via facebook, though anyone who have already submitted the application can still help me.

Bump!
Anyone want to help me?
I have already asked the same questions at PTCAS Facebook page two days back and did not get any replies🙁

this is not really the place for these specific questions.....contact PTCAS directly (if their FB page didn't work, then call their helpline or email them directly through their website email address).

Hey Jino 🙂

I'm not associated with ptcas but I can tell you what I know from submitting my application this cycle.

For your first question. What PTCAS means by electronic is that the reference will be emailed a link where they will click and will see what is somewhat like a questionnaire. It will have statements that essentially ask about stress management, leadership, ect. The recommender will rank you on a scale of 1-5. I believe in this section they can also put in some comments too but I'm not 100% on that one. At the end of the "letter" they have the opportunity to write a 4500 word essay on your behalf. I don't know whether or not they are also allowed to upload a document but I believe they will just have to write it in like we do with the essays.

Second question. Usually for transcript the schools you are applying to want a copy of your transcript sent straight to them from the registar office at your current/past school. Usually the way to go about this is to go to your school's website and request transcripts online (there is usually a fee associated with this, at my school it is 6 dollars regularly and 21 if you want it expedited). If your school does not have that option (though most do) you will need to contact your current schools registar office and have them send out your transcripts. I should also mention that for some of the schools supplemental essays they wanted me to scan in my transcript and upload it onto their online supplemental application. I wouldn't assume a school want it in this way unless it is implicitly stated.

Hope this helped and good luck on your application!
