As I was filling out the application, I have developed some questions:

1) Coursework:
  • Would a 200 level class with pre-reqs be considered lower-level or upper-level?
  • I have taken a couple of "other science" classes (intro to computer science and educational strategies for health professionals) that do not have labs. Would I enter this as "lecture only" or "other"?
  • Are the core PT prereq's independent of program prereqs? -->The program that I'm applying to doesn't require biology, but would I still enter general bio as a core prereq?
  • Do we have to designate which classes we want to use as the program prereqs or does PTCAS automatically do that for us?
2) Observation Hours
  • One of my observation experiences was at a sub-acute rehab hospital. The person who was in charge of me was an OT (they did PT & OT in the same gym), but I observed the PT's 98% of the time. Can I still put the name of OT in where it asks for the physical therapist's name?
3) Extracurriculars
  • Should we only type something in the description box if we held a leadership position or can we write a description of the activity in that space too since there doesn't seem to be a space to upload a resume?

1) A lot of these should be answered in the PTCAS FAQ already, but I would ask PTCAS directly since they're specific questions. Each program will calculate their own Prereq GPA, but you should read the section about choosing which classes should be listed as pre-reqs. PTCAS won't do that for you, but schools will look for the pre-reqs themselves.

2) If an OT signs off for you, those hours will NOT count. Ask a PT to sign them for you.

3) You don't need a resume... I didn't hold any leadership positions and included things that I felt were important, like being a camp counselor and fostering kittens, both of which had over 200 hours each. I explained what I did, and I did leadership things as a counselor even though it wasn't an official position.

Oh, well in that case I wouldn't even ask haha
It just sounds like a hassle then. I'm not sure if it'll be a negative thing, but I don't see any need to take a risk. It won't help at all to get them signed for the schools that don't require it. It would help if you decide you want to apply somewhere that does require verification though.

Bump...I did look through the instructions on PTCAS, but because my questions are so specific, I did not find answers to them.

I had the same question as you. I know PTCAS considers 300-400 level courses and those that need pre reqs to be taken are considered upper level, but at the same time, some of my anatomy courses requires pre reqs too? So I don't know either... but I stuck with 300-400 level courses as upper level until I can find the correct answer.
