Hello everyone,
So I am taking the exam in November but I've been having a very difficult time trying to make myself long-enough study sessions due to my current schedule. I am using Certification Review for Pharmacy Technicians by Noah Reifman as recommended by many people here and have some questions regarding preparation to help me maximize my limited amount of study time.
1) Which sections should I place more emphasis on?
I know that I need to work on being flawless with the math conversions and all, but what about the conversions from the Apothecary system? Do I have to memorize those too?
- Is the math portion about 50% of the test?
I glanced at the practice problems really quickly and thought that the math covered was less than half of the test, but I might be way wrong.
2) How well should I know the common Latin abbreviations and their meanings?
I do volunteer at a pharmacy now but I've only gotten 7 hours so far in 2 weeks. I know the basic of basics like QD, BID, TID, QOD, PRN and etc, but what about the rest of the million? 🙁
3) Are the practice exams given in Reifman's book accurate portrayals to what the tests are like now?
For some reason I thought that the test was split into 2 parts: multiple choice and short answer for math problems @_@;;
... Ok that was short. I thought I had more questions but I guess that is all for now. I might have more questions later as the studying moves along but if I do I shall post them here. Anyways, thanks for the help! 🙂
