do you think the a class entitled Writing and Presentation in Chemistry is considered a public speaking class? We had to make a poster and present it to the whole chemistry dept. I am also taking Chemistry seminar where we have to make a ppt presentation and present that...would those work as public speaking classes??

I highly doubt so - I took the same class as you and still have to take public speaking. The admissions counselors I have spoken to said the speech course must be in the speech department. I would check with the schools you are interested in though, just to be positive.

I highly doubt it too. Not sure which state you're applying to but the CA schools have those articulate agreements application on their website, where you can determine if the course is equivalent. All the CA schools require public speaking or some sort of course in the speech dept. Interpersonal communications will do for USC.

I say check the schools' website.

Probably not. Sounds like an advanced writing class, if you need one of those (or just for a humanities elective if you need those). Check with the school tho.

Hey guys,

You are all right...that class will not fulfill the requirement. I called all the schools that i am applying to that require speech and they all said to take the class somewhere else if my university doesnt offer it so that is what i am doing.
