there is a tradeoff right... submit your aadsas early (and get interviews eaely) and not have your publication on it vs submit it late (and get later interviews) and having your publication on it.
if the opportunity arises, you could mention it in the interviews.
Many people ask about doing research and having publications. Yes it's good to have publications, but does it really help in admission to dental school? You really have to ask yourself, what type of people make good dentists?
I don't think having the publication will hurt or help your application.

At a school that's interested in research I think this will help you, but not night and day. This is something you'd bring up at an interview, I thought it really impressed some of my interviewers.
