Since there's no separate slot for publications, as you said, try to fit it in with your research position description. The primary is pretty tight and it's impossible to list everything. However, you'll definitely get room on your secondary applications to elaborate. COMP's secondary asked an whole essay question on research, and something like that would be the PERFECT place to describe in detail whatever you want to describe. Good luck!!
