I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could give me some insight on this..

PUCO's preferred hotel is right by the school, which is an hour and a half away from the airport. A cab there would probably ring up to be the same as my airplane ticket. What other options do I have? I'm 21...and unless the laws are different there than here, I can't rent a car. Advice??

ive been able to rent cars since I was 21. sometimes they charge you an under 25 fee, sometimes they don't

Disclaimer: I'm no Oregon native, but I do have family in the area around PUCO so I am fairly familiar with the transit system there.

That being said, the Portland area has a train system called the MAX light rail that has a station at the airport. There is no direct route to Forest Grove, but you can get there by stopping in a nearby city and taking a bus. The train system website for this trip is http://trimet.org/go/cgi-bin/itin.pl#16543 and explains all the details.

This may not be the most desirable situation, but it will be way cheaper than a cab or a rental. I just wanted to let you know there is another option. Good luck with your interview!

The airport to Forest Grove takes me about an hour by car. The MAX is great but you do have to transfer over to a bus so it will take a while to get to town so make sure you plan for that.

Also - I don't know what hotel they recommend but if it is the Best Western just know that is still about 1.5 miles away from school so plan time for a little walk in the morning!

The PUCO website states that Best Western provides a shuttle from the hotel to the school in the morning, so hopefully thats still valid =)

I am sure they do then. I didn't stay there when I interviewed (and I rented a car) so I had no idea. Good luck!
