PULVERIZED on 01/27/09 Breakdown

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
As one may say, your scores are "off the hook." Translation= way to go, you posted some impressive scores!

Very nice scores! Congrats!

Weird that 53%-ile in RC translates to a 19... never noticed that before.

Yup, I was SO nervous. But alas D-Day is done with and I am so going to the bars tonight haha. TS helped a lot with the stamina thing because when I did it on TS, I got really worn out. I didn't get so tired when I was taking the real thing =)

awesome scores!

you mind throwing up your CDP and CDM scores sometime?

is the kaplan course/destroyer/cliffs good enough for bio?

haahaa...you earned the celebration adizzle87!

Good luck with your applications for this cycle- I intend on taking the test sometime in April or May...depending how things work out...may I come to you if I have questions during my prep mode??

Absolutely, feel free to PM anytime. If it wasn't for the advice of my fellow SDNers I wouldn't have done nearly as well as I did. Time to pay it forward =)

I personally thought that Kaplan BB's bio was relatively weak. I heard the classes weren't much better so I decided to forego Kaplan for Bio and PAT.

Destroyer is helpful, but to be honest I only did like 1/4 of all the ~250 problems that were on it. It prepared me on how to approach questions, and to fill in the spaces with their solutions. But when it came down to it I attribute my Bio score more to Cliffs and High-Yield than anything else. I can't tell you of any short, efficient ways to study for Biology because I decided to go the overkill route and went straight to Campbells whenever I could.

I would use Cliffs as your primary source and use Campbell's biology to cover everything Cliffs doesn't cover (according to the ADA-DAT Guideline). I found the textbook useful and although you probably won't need all those details that the book gives you, its figures and longer (but interesting) explanations gave me a strong foundation for the Biological sciences.

Yah Im glad that I asm in this cycle and not next one, the scores here just keep on shooting higher and higher. Very nice job even with your "average" scores you should have no problem getting in. GL next cycle.

Awesome job! You freakin killed it man ! Dental school is yours, where are you applying to?

How much time did you spend studying?

I spent all of my 3-week winter break and most of my free time once school started. All in all I spent about 6-7 weeks studying, with the first 3 weeks 10 hours a day not leaving the house. When I wasn't studying for upcoming MTs during this winter I dedicated all of that time to nothing but the DAT. Hardcore, I know, but I knew that that was the only way for ME to do well. I knew I probably wasn't as quick at learning as some of the people on the forums so I knew the only way I could make up for it was with putting in twice the effort.

I'm shooting for the Dugoni School of Dentistry, thats probably my #1 choice right now. Among my other favorite picks are MWU, Temple, NYU, ASDOH, and UConn. But with my GPA in the gutter, its going to be a tough road for me even with my DAT scores I gather. I intend on applying broadly though, so I'm just trying my best in school right now and crossing my fingers :xf: hoping for the best!
