I used kaplan bluebook, Destroyer and topscore. I am so dissapionted that it is hard to write this. I feel so down becuase i studied my ass off( 3 times more then last time and virually got the same scores. I went over everything 3 times but it was still not enough.

My GPA is 3.31 and science is 3.2. I applied late last year and only got one interview. I thought i was going to do so much better but whatever. Questions were so tricky IDUNNO. I even took classes with Orgo man for 2 months and nothing.

The numbers, letters and figures being blurry didn't help. I complained and report was made. BUt whatever, i will call ADA on MOnday if they don't give me a retest then I WILL NEVER BECOME A DENTIST.

I applied to 13 schools: NYU , BU, UMDNJ, Buffalo, UPENN, Tufts, Howard, STony B, NYU, MAryland, Pittsburgh, Puetro rico(don;t know why i did that),

OHHHHHHHHH GODDDDDD Well goodluck with all of you, YOU R ALL ACES IN MY BOOK

OHHHHHH tell me what you think

Although I got a perfect Bio score ( I also took it today), like you said, most of the questions were from nowhere (not in destroyer or Kaplan). I believe that ADA has made the Bio test even harder than earlier this year. I was lucky to have perused the Schaums since most of the weird questions were actually all covered there. Take a look at the Schaums book and you will realize that most of those random questions you have gotten actually appear in Schaums.

Its not bad at all. Your scores are actually quite consistent. Although your GPA is a little bit on the lower side, your DAT makes will make cutoffs for all schools so I think you def. have a chance. Good luck with rest of the app process.

I don't understand what is so difficult about orgo or gchem. Bio is a crapshoot, straight up. Some people seem to get ridiculously easy questions like "what color is the grass" and others are asked the molecular enzyme used in the preservative of a certain meat packing plant in downtown India. Nothing you can do except try to know it all. With Ochem, there are only so many reagents and reactants you can see, and with Gchem there is one periodic table, a few different types of bonds and elements, and a few equations. I haven't taken the DAT yet (6 days out), so please tell me why you think you didn't cut it. Is it nerves? Too much coffee? Bad testing environment?

I am from Arizona and here the grass is yellow so that first question might not be so easy.! jk
I agree that some tests are eaiser in some subjects than others.

OP I think that the DAT and GPA help one get an interview invite. You said that you got one last year and you are reapplying. That can only help. If you can impress in the interview your chances of being admitted are the same as someone with 25's on the DAT who is as interesting as watching paint dry.
just a thought of encouragement.

I agree with this assessment. Bio is unpredictable, but the Chemistries are really quite straightforward. If you put in the time to study and know your stuff, there is no reason not to get a 20+ in these sections. In fact, I would think that these sections are good at raising one's overall score.

hey steve, i think your scores are solid!! 🙂its good that they are all consistent, you dont have any 15 in a section-- i think you are going to be ok! have you sent your application out?

Dont stress!! Enjoy whats left of the summer! You deserve it!!! 🙂🙂

yeah im in the same boat too. Didnt get in anywhere and now i got an 18 this week. I took my exam much earlier this year though than I did last year and so I'm hoping maybe that could help me out a little. Good luck to you. Hope we'll get in!

P.S. I read somewhere that if you reapply, it already looks good that you are determined to get in and that this is the profession you truly want. Maybe this will help us too.

Dude your scores are fine. The purpose is to get an interview, then you can impress the hell out of them. I don't think people realize how important the interview is and that is why people with high DaT scores dont get in.

As far as I know, I dont think that your scores are that bad. Can anyone please clarify how much schools weigh GPA and scores. I mean if you have average scores but cumm. GPA of higher than 3.5, then what are your chances. If you ask the admissions people, they just tell you the stats, which are a bit scary, cuz they increase every month or so!

I don't know about Livingston Center. Meaning that they are a goood center but just not a good vibe maybe it is just me.

How's everyone one? I say if Schuams book is good then you better use it. The language on the test is sooooo much different then any practice test if ever taken. Practice practice practice!!!!

Thank you guys for the encouragement, hopefully everything will be OK but who's know. With the amount of students applying. I don't know!!!
