has anyone applied to teach for america and medical school at the same time? if so, do you indicate on your application that you have applied to teach for america as well? I ask this not because I think that it will improve my application or anything, but just to see if it is some sort of requirement to let medical schools know that you may possibly plan to defer acceptance to complete something else before medical school. Thanks

That is something to check with schools about outside of your application.. Ultimately, you first must ask would you still go to teach for america if the school or schools that accept you do not accept deferals for TFA. If the answer is yes, don't apply to any schools that you do not first confirm will let you defer. TFA has a list somewhere I know, I'd call any schools not on the list and ask what their policy is and how many years (important!) they allow one to defer.

No requirement to list it.

In fact, it is inadvisable to list it as a "warning" to med schools that you plan to ask for a deferral...

It's not appropriate to list something you "might" do. If you've been accepted to the program, then you can list it.

It's my understanding that many med schools think highly of TFA as an EC and getting a deferral isn't difficult.
