Q bank question

Are the Q bank questions harder, the same or more difficult than the actual Step 1 questions? What do you think? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

I found the QBank questions much easier, I took the Step 1 one month ago, I don?t know yet the results, so I don?t like speak about it.
I used to score about 85-92 % in QBank.
I think the closest exams questions come from the Kaplan CD 350 questions, the real exam is a little bit easier than this CD but is the closer, and I used to score 65 %.

What do other people think? Is the Q Bank easier? Also, what about medrevu.com questions?

I found Q Bank to be somewhat more difficult than the real thing. I was routinely scoring between 70-85% on it, but I did well on Step 1.

yes, I have heard the same, Qbank is harder than the real thing, I have never heard that the real thing is harder than Qbank, but I guess the exam is just random like that.

Did anyone subscribe to the QBank for 3 months? Do you think that is too long of a period to subscribe? IS 1 month sufficient to go through all of the questions on Q Bank? It feels like there are already so many question books to go through, besides Q Bank...

I actually used Q-Bank for three weeks and got through all of the questions. At that point, I was finished with my reviews and only doing questions. For my purposes, one month was more than enough but depending on how you use this resource, you may need three months. 🙂

I thought the questions on Q-Bank for USMLE Step I were pickier but not necessarily more difficult than the actual test. The questions are of a similiar format as the actual test. The greatest utility of Q-Bank is the practice under conditions that are similiar to the actual exam (computer, graphics).

I found Q-Bank for both USMLE Step I and Step II most useful for question practice but not for review. I found these resources good for pointing out areas that were weak for me. As I went through the questions, I saw a progression in my scores. I found that I did better on the actual exam, than on either of the Q-Banks but I had friends who had the opposite experience. Go figure? 😕

I found Q-Bank for Step I more useful than Q-Bank for Step II but both served my purposes and style of test prep. 🙂

I took my Step I today, and I thought the Qbank questions were EASIER than the actual test. The questions were REALLY long and the answers were very hard to get to...the questions required you to do things like 1)know what disease was represented in the clinical scenario, 2) Know the molecular pathophysiology of said disease, 3) know what receptors were involved, 4) Know the pharmacology for a receptor that ISN'T the receptor for the given disease, but one that functions similarly. It was tough, let me tell you! I could make it through 3, but then my poor brain just couldn't go any farther! 🙂

I did think Qbank was good practice, though, because I was very familiar with the test format and the computer program.

So, do the Qbank-for-1-month and Qbank-for-3-months programs both have the same total number questions available (i.e. 2000 questions for each)? Or do you get more questions for the 3-month program than you do with the 1-month.

why dont you just get the lippincot board simulator CD? I am using it now, it has 3850 questions and you get unlimited time, computer interface, full explanations.

I dont know where to get it, b/c someone gave it to me. Try your school's book store perhaps.
You can also try e-bay, i know someone that got a cd with roughly 9,000 step 1 questions from there.

Yes, the QBANK has the same # of questions, whether you subscribe for 1 or 3 months....
I am still trying to figure out what the minimum I should be scoring on QBANK is in order to pass the USMLE.....What is the minimum you want to be scoring before you take it?
