Hey guys

I'm not sure what the top and bottom numbers on the reported USMLE score refer to. I guess they're on some sort of bell curve.

Reason is I asked a program director what scores are required and he said 90's esp. high 90's...

What does that mean?

Thanks

You receive 2 scores, a 3-digit score and a 2-digit score. He was referring to the 2-digit score. It is not a percentile.

It is a conversion of your three digit score to a 2 digit score. They mean the same thing, like the previous poster said it is not a percentile. look at the guide on gotmedbooks.com, there is a link in there to the NBME website that explains this in detail.
