Is it just me or are some of these just bad questions? I haven't taken the step 1 yet, but I did do all of Robbins Review, and some of the qbank questions just seem so random. Like Paget's Disease being related to paramyxovirus infection? I thought that was just a theory. Then I just had a question about autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease presenting at 8 years old! I thought it presented at birth or very soon after. We actually had a family with 2 children with the recessive form come talk to us first year...I really don't see how it could start presenting so late.

anyway, just had to vent...these path questions are frustrating.

I probably won't end up finishing q-bank because I devoted more time to making sure I do Robbin's q-book. The questions are so much better in there, and if you go through a chapter you'll know your $&!# by the end of it.

Compared to Robbins and the ?s I saw on the NBME exams, I think q-bank questions are pretty crappy (alot of them anyways). They are the best ooption for the non-path subjects though.

I felt the same, and thus gave up on Kaplan Pathology. It only annoyed me in a very disturbing matter (I threw the book all across the room, and ended up hitting a vase... well, you can figure it out).

I did the Robbins question book, which was purely gold, and read the explanations carefuly. I ended up doing quite well on the real thing. My other question source source was the PreTest series, more precisely the Pathology and Pathophysiology books.
