I realize QBank is a learning tool, and that one should not over-analyze their score... but what about the freakin' material? Some of this stuff is ridiculous, I just ran into a ? about a "Taussig-Bing Malformation"... a variant of transposition of the great arteries. ARE YOU KIDDING ME... does the USMLE really throw these obscure diseases at ya? I mean, when you start talking about variants of some of the less common congenital heart defects-- you're certainly over my head...

Excuse the frustration/venting, whatever you wanna call it

hey jak..i know what you mean..i got that very stupid question the other day myself...We have some brilliant path professors at our school and they never went over that crap..well, at least if they spring that one on us on test day we will be ready..

I never heard of that one either until I came across it in qbank. Joted it down in FA next to "transposition of the vessels" and moved on.

There is going to be stuff on USMLE you've never heard of before. Aceept it and move on, that question will probably not even count. If nobody knows it, it doesn't count.

I bet it is in Harrison's. For those that memorized that book i.e. the gunners of your schools!!

Too funny, I just came across this question today!

Two sets of 50 questions so far - first I scored 50% and the second 62%. With four weeks to study, hopefully that's decent enough...

On a related note, whats up with the insane anatomy questions on Q bank. I got the infamous "What is the course of the median nerve as it enters the forearm" on my first block of 50 random a couple of weeks ago. WTF!!!

Legion

Courses through the pronator teres, right? that is actually a relevant question, because of pronator entrapment syndrome, which has to be ruled out when Dx carpal tunnel. I expect to see this question on the real deal.

edit: of course you all know that, i just cant help myself sometimes...i need to go to bed.

I agree anatomy on Qbank is insane. But yay for easy embryo and genetics questions. Kinda helps make up for the anatomy crap they throw at you.

is the distribution of anatomy on qbank similar to the real thing??? From what i heard probably not but I wast talkin to an M3 the other day and she said that her exam was all anatomy. i've been kinda blowing that off for a while focusing on path/pharm/micro etc. but her comments coupled with the huge amount of anatomy i run into when I take 50q random blocks (its like 10% of whole damn block) are freaking me out now

I've heard that anatomy isn't stressed on the real exam

hey do you all think it would be suffice to completely blow off anatomy (ie not study it really). however, do all the q's from qbank and learn from that as well as FA (closer to the last days of studying?)

i'm kinda mixed on this subj. most ppl including a chick i knew that did really well on her exam said there's virtually no anatomy. but then again she aced anatomy her first yr...
