The Qbank that everyone refers to when studying for the Step I. Is this the Qbank offered by Kaplan and if so, how much is it? Does everyone dish out the cash for it (I assume it's hella expensive if I know Kaplan) or is there a way to get it without having to pay for it?

Also, does anyone know if you can get a discount if you work for Kaplan?

I don't know about the discount, but I do know Kaplan can get very expensive depending on what you decide to do. Just go to http://www.kaptest.com and look at the plans they offer. You can get one month of qbank for 150 or 3 months for 250. There are many more offers than just qbank, so you'll have to snoop around.

On an interesting note, and one that's very un-Kaplan-like, there's actually a great refund policy for Qbank if you don't like it. The lady gave me a 90% refund on mine because I had only worked 10% of the questions, even though the website says I would only get a 75% refund or something like that. Of course, kaplan then proceeded to charge my credit card account twice, and then it took them over a MONTH to remove it (along with six telephone calls from me), but that's another story. 🙄

Most everyone in my med school class got QBank, but paid for the QBank + IV QBank + Question book package for $350 and 9 months of access (it was a special deal that we bought in the fall of our second year).
