The new Lefkowitch book is great.
For CP I like the review book for Henry and McClatchey's question book.

How bout the Rosai and Ackerman question book that goes along with their text? Saw it at the bookstore...just was wondering if it was any good after having heard the text is money for the boards.

I have to say here (even thought it is not about a multi-question book...)
DO NOT BUY Mais' quick compendium of clinical pathology.
It should be titled Clinical Pathology: A choose your own editing.
So many mistakes it is really only useful if you want to test your ability to remember the correct answer in the face of confusing misinformations....
or maybe
The plus of that title is it would help you get ready for boards by getting used to reading long confusing text statements...

Actually, I love the Mais Quick Compendium book. Yes, it has mistakes and is poorly edited. However, it is the most concise review book you will find. (Second place is Clinical Laboratory Pearls, but Mais is much more concise and readable to me). Numerous people I know who passed the boards last year swear by it. And I can tell you that I kicked butt on the RISE CP this year with it, whereas it was the other way around last year (although admittedly, the ASCP both publishes this book and the RISE, so there may be some overlap).
I have been told a new edition is coming out which (hopefully) will be corrected.
AP question books: Lefkowitz and Sternberg are both really good. Robbins is too wordy in its questions and the questions are too easy and more geared towards Step I takers, IMO. I dont like the Rosai book. All true/false, few pictures, and too difficult to flip between question and answer.

I have very mixed feelings about the Mais book.
I also wanted to point out that the Osler course puts out big question books with very detailed answers. They're very nice if you can get your hands on them.

I've noticed that about the Mais book also - rather irritating and disappointing, especially for a book that is supposed to be about accurate facts and be concise. It does you no good if you can't trust the answer. I think it's a first edition, which means there are likely to be more errors, and since everything is a factoid there are thousands of places for small errors to slip through, but still...someone dropped the ball on that one.
