Question about a Cube COuntint Problem

I was going over CDP and one of the cube counting questions was kind of ridiculous

So on the left is what I saw i the problem. Where I drew the arrow, wouldn't every person who saw this just assume that that row of cubes went straight out. But in the explanation later on it shows it from a different angle and shows thats just a single cube. I was wondering if anyone seen anything ridiculous like this on the DAT?

This was a straightforward question. Nothing ridiculous about it.

General rule of thumb: It is assumed there is nothing behind a cube when obstructing your view.
