I have all A's and B's so far, and I'm currently taking a class that I might get a D in, so my question is if i get a D in one class but take it over and say get an A or B, i know the D stays on my transcript, but will this seriously affect my chances of going to dental school?

With your current GPA... and assuming you do just as well on the DAT, you'll be fine.

If you have mostly A's and B's and you only have one D, who cares! Unless it is like an advanced physiology class or something important you might take at D-school. That might hurt a bit.

Well never mind, I aced my final and ended up with a C+ in the class.

🙂

dont mind me asking what class was it?
orgo?

no im starting that in the fall, it was just general chemistry 2. The material wasn't hard it was just our professor, He is the head of the chemistry department and it was the summer B semester so we crammed the course into 6weeks, but he made the tests impossible, avgs were about 30-40%. but in the end he made a "normal" final and gave us a little curve to bring the class avg to C-.

be careful with any classes that are required because some schools don't accept anything lower then a C.... so I don't know if they would accept the C- Not to freak you out or anything but it's something to think about
