I have a question for yall.

I completed Microbiology and OChem II this summer and achieved A's in both. I also applied late: my AADSAS went out on 9-15.

My question: should i wait until i complete the 14 credits of CHEM/BIOL i'm currently in this fall BEFORE sending my transcripts for an academic update? or should i just send what i have now? i only ask because i have no idea if the schools i applied to have even opened my app yet.

any thoughts? thanks!

It's always hard to make a decision regarding academic update. Some schools would rather you send it now, but you know that waiting until fall classes are over will have a bigger boost to your gpa so....what do you do?

I still haven't decided if I'm going to send it now or wait a month.

I thought I read in the email that you can only do it once.....so with that in mind, you may want to wait until this fall is done, unless you are really tanking this semester. I could be wrong about you only having one time.

"AADSAS permits applicants to report grades only ONE time during the Academic Update period. If you are taking courses during the Fall Term, wait until the end of the Fall Term to post grades earned for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2009 courses."

Since my fall semester ends in mid-December and I plan to already have chosen the school I will be attending 🙂xf🙂, I will just do what they want. This way I only have to deal with one school and hopefully not AADSAS.

What about waiting till I get acceptances before I report summer grades? I'd rather not let that affect schools' decisions.

EDIT: I plan on taking bacteriology in the winter quarter but can't be 100% certain yet (it will depend on whether the schools lets me enroll as a non-matriculated student). If I put that under planned courses and submit now, will I still be able to report my summer grades later?

well, i'm doing really well this semester, i expect almost straight A's in my courses, but one reason why i'm inclined to submit early is because, aside from my summer coursework, my only BIOL classes with grades on my AADSAS are Gen Biol I & II which were taken in Spring 2009. I have straght A's post-bacc, but not alot of upper level biol (which i'm in now).

sooo. yeah i still don't know.

Are you saying that you want to submit your summer grades now and update your planned/in-progress courses to show schools that you are taking upper level classes? I don't think that will affect schools' decisions much. If you're getting A's you should submit everything till after you get your grades. You might get your acceptances a little later than other people but you'll have better chances.
