Hello I am just about to send my application for processing. This can take from anywhere 2-4 weeks, so I have a really quick question. Basically I have all my classes but I need at least 1 bio lab to apply. I am currently enrolled in Spring quarter(and about to finish it), and I am taking my first Bio Lab(My second bio lab will be in Fall). My grade will be done June 13th, and I just wanted to know, If I apply in early june, my bio lab says in progress(because I am currently in it). Will this slow down my application process? As in, will the schools wait for my bio lab grade to come in whether to decide if I get secondaries or an interview, or will this in no way impact my application process? Or do I have to send in a new transcript with the classes I took this quarter. Can anyone help me on this?

It shouldn't slow the process. They will just see that you have a class in progress and any interviews/acceptances will be conditionally granted until all prereqs are completed. I was interviewed/accepted at a school requiring biochem when I hadn't had biochem yet. It shouldn't be an issue, especially for something like a 1 credit lab.

You will need to potentially let some schools know individually when the class is complete. Just follow the aacomas process for in progress classes.

If you have less than 2-3 requirements "in progress" virtually every DO school will still review your app, interview and even accept you contingent on you completely the pre-reqs prior to matriculating. It will not delay you.

As far as notifying schools when the classes are complete, update your AACOMAS with the new transcript, and then after its updated properly (actually look at it and make sure its updated), you should notify programs that your app has been updated. Many might auto-download your updates apps, but some won't until you notify them.
