Hello everyone. I have a questoin for you as my application cycle nears.

I decided to go into dentistry Senior year in college. So I have pretty much all my req for my degree finished.

My sophomore year I took Bio1 for my req ffor my major so that was good. Now Spring '05 I took General Chemistry I. Summer '05 I took General Chemistry 2, and Biology 2. And Fall '05 I just finished Organich Chem I.

Now for Spring '06 I am taking Orgo II.

I want to apply to school this year to go to D-School in '07.
The thing is I am planning on taking Physics, in Fall '06 which is AFTER I apply to D-school and take my DATs. So they will have to make a decision without me having Physics. Do you know if this will be a problem? I talked to one Dental School and they said that they would like to see me finish ALL of the core reqs so they can see my grades in them before they can make the decision to accept me. I really want to go to UMDNJ so that's what I heard. What do you guys think? Do I have a chance or did I waste a year?

By the way I am working full time and those are the only classe sIm taking now...

shouldn't be a problem. At most of the interviews I went to, they sit down with you and tell you what you need to finish before you can start school there. As long as you finish the classes they tell you to, you were good to go.

When you fill out AADSAS there is a section where you put in all of your future schedules. As long as they see you are planning on taking it, you should be okay. I was taking physics 2 lab and biochem in the fall and they just told me to make sure I finished them.

Have you thought about summer school? It may be possible to get them both done then, although it would mean less time to study for the DAT

no big deal... I was taking one of my pre-req classes while interviewing and I got accepted to all my schools. You just have to finish the pre-reqs BEFORE you enroll in school.
