I am currently in my TY program and will begin my radonc residency next year (yeah!). I know very little about the board exams for radonc. Can someone clarify how many there are exactly and when you take them? This is something I just never investigated during the application process, but now am interested in! Thanks. ND.

4 components:

1,2. Radiobiology, Radiation Physics (most take 2 weeks after beginning their PGY-5 year).
3. Written Clinicals (most take 2 weeks after completing their residency)
4. Oral Clinicals (most take one year after completing their residency)

1,2,3 are now on computer as of this year so you no longer have to travel very far to take them. Of course there are also re-cert exams you have to take ~10 years or so.

Cool, thanks Gfunk!

i note the abr leaves out the phase where you hand over bodily fluids and the rights to your first born.
