I just went through MEPS and to my surprise according to the nurse there I was over the bodyfat requirements. My application is being held with the recruiter until I go back in and get remeasured and pass. By the majority of the bodyfat counters and tests I am below the requirement of 22. Though by the military I am over 25. One reason I have a long skinny neck which I hardly work out.. I am currently 6'4" 230lbs. The nurse told me to start workingout and doing crunches. I then told him I workout 4-5 times a week and do over 1000 crunches a week. He then had a confused look on his face. My BP was normal and my resting heartrate was below 60. I felt extremely healthy. I am now having to run twice a day and cut my caloric intake to a fraction of what I was eating (4k-5k I was in a bulking stage of lifting).

Here is the question. Is there a way to get another test besides the measuring of the neck and waist? I am just having a hard time trying to find the credibility in that way of measuring bodyfat.

BUT, my husband's the Navy Recruiter. Having looked over those tables one million times I agree with you that they are not the best, nor is the old "rope and choke" method(where theymeasure your neck). However, there is no other way at this time. You just need to get yourself to fit into those requirements, as archaic as they seem.
