hey guys had a question about ca-1 yr. im in my prelim yr right now, and i was wondering how many intubations do residency programs expect new ca-1's to have under their belt at the start of anesthesia residency in July? Im trying to get some in during this prelim yr, but not havin much opportunity so far. thanx.

Even if you get some as a prelim, you will still be a novice that your residency program will then have to retrain.

dont sweat it at all.

we don't even expect you to know how to put in an IV my man.

just do some reading during your intern year. not balls out, but something. The clinical stuff will happen in a BIG way.
