I register for classes tomorrow some quick answers would be nice. Anyways, I am a freshman in college and next semester I plan on taking Organic Chem 1, Human Anatomy, Cell/Molecular Bio, and an honors curriculum required class. How hard of a schedule does that look like? I feel like I would be studying like crazy with a schedule like that and it would require a ton of hard work on my part and adjusting my study habits.

I want to take cell/molec biology before I take the DAT but I will be taking the DAT the summer after sophomore year so basically with the way my schedule is set up, I could do 2 options:

1) Fall 2014: Org Chem 1, Cell/Molec Bio, Human Anatomy, Honors class
Spring 2015: Org Chem 2, Human Physiology, Honors class, Honors class
2) Same thing as option 1 but instead of Cell/Molec I would just take a gen ed.

Is that tough of a fall 2014 worth taking cell/molec before the DAT?

Anatomy was extremely time consuming (not necessarily difficult) and I really wouldn't recommend taking it with any Ochem class. And to be honest, I don't think taking anatomy before the DAT is all that important. Anything on the DAT that involves anatomy could be easily self taught while studying Bio. Ochem was also time consuming for me, but that may be because it didn't really click with me for a long time. So I couldn't imagine doing both at once, I'm sure I could have pulled it off, but I would never put myself into that situation knowingly (But that is how the first year of dental school is going to be so....)

Yeah, I would consider taking cell bio and then anatomy and physiology as a junior.

Hmmm, I guess I didn't think of taking anat and phys as a junior. I guess what would be better, taking anat and phys or taking cell/molec before the DAT?

I normally took 2 harder science classes and an easier science class. But I know some classmates that are doing a&p, orgo, cell, physics all in one semester so depends on the person.

You want to be able to balance taking a good amount a credits while still mantaining a high GPA. If you feel your GPA will be poor not really worth it to crame all your science courses in one year.

Why not try orgo and anatomy 1st semester then if you thought you could go for extra challenge take cell in spring. All depends what you feel comfortable doing.

I guess right now I am trying to decide if I should take either anat and phys before the DAT or Cell/Molec before the DAT, which one would be more helpful?

Both would be helpful. You should pick the one you like more.

Physio and cell/molecular
Yea I've heard that too, that physio is better for the DAT than Anatomy is but unfortunately at my school you have to take anatomy before you can take physiology.
