Just a random question. Anyone ever been accepted or heard of someone accepted into a DO school with a 'D' grade in one of the core required science classes? Meaning o-chem, gen-chem, biology, physics. Sounds ridiculous but I was just curious if it happens. I know some schools require a C or better in those classes, but some do not.

No, they won't. If you'll look closely, you are required to have a minimum of C's.

Retake the course.

I second that. Most schools won't even take a C-. You probably wouldn't want to risk it anyway cuz it is such a red flag on your app.

I certainly agree with what you two said. I was just curious if anyone has ever heard of it happening. Sort of like how everyone was flaming on the potential for someone getting accepted with a 19 on the MCAT but yet it happens.

I've never heard of a C-. If you look at the application, your choice is C (2.0) or C+ (2.5).

Schools will accept multiples of both grades, even in the sciences, as long as your MCAT is adequate.

Any grade below 2.0 is unacceptable in a medical school required course, and your application will be thrown out.
