Question about deadlines

Not sure where to post this but since I'm a nontrad here it is.

Let's say that a school has an Early Decision deadline stated as such:

1. The latest date to apply to AMCAS is August 1, 2010.
2. The latest date to complete file in Admissions Office is normally September 1, 2010.

Does this imply that I need to hit submit on my AMCAS by August 1st, regardless of whether it's verified by then, or that it needs to be verified by August 1st so I should submit earlier, like July 10th or so?

Also, if you are applying early decision, is there any advantage at all to getting your application in sooner? I know the mantra is the sooner the better, but wondering if that applies to EDP as well.

yep. you need to get your app in as soon as possible especially with EDP. if you are waiting until august, applying EDP would be foolish because you can't apply anywhere but the given school until you hear back from them. apply broadly as all schools are going to contact you in the same amount of time.
